Just before April ended, T-Mobile announced that it will be rolling out two new Home Internet plans: Plus and Away. The Un-carrier initially planned to roll out the Away plan on May 8th, along with a new address verification system for Home Internet users.
But as revealed by The Mobile Report, these two will now be delayed to later this year. The report revealed that T-Mobile discovered an issue at the last minute of testing the Away plan, which led them to pause its release.
“During the final pre-launch testing of the Away plan, we encountered an issue with a setup that would have resulted in a customer experience that didn’t meet T-Mobile’s high bar. We’ve decided to delay the launch of the Away plan so we can make the experience amazing for customers.”
At the same time, the Un-carrier plans to delay when it will start verifying addresses. Although this has been delayed, it doesn’t mean that it won’t happen anymore. Customers can still expect this to happen later this year. It will particularly affect customers who used a false address upon sign up. If you are among these customers, you can expect an email from T-Mobile soon.
There is no official date yet on when these two will be implemented. But T-Mobile promises to implement address verification and launch the Away plan later this year.
