Smartphone theft is an ongoing concern among users because the resale value of the devices are very high. In order to combat the problem, a Democratic Senator from California has proposed a bill to make the installation of kill switches in cell phones mandatory. The kill switch would enable a lost or stolen phone to be completely deactivated. The goal of the kill switch is not only the fact that the smartphone can be shut down remotely, it is also that just the option being installed would deter theft from even occurring because no one wants a smartphone that doesn't work.
The new bill proposed would require all smartphones sold after January 1, 2015 to include the kill switch technology. If not, the manufacturer would face stiff fines. Currently all of the major wireless... read more
Last week the Better Business Bureau warned consumers of what they are calling the "One Ring Cell Phone Scam." What is happening is that someone calls your cell phone number lets it ring just once and hangs up. This leaves you with a missed call. Some people will just ignore the call from the unfamiliar number, but many others have called the number back. The number is usually a number based in a Caribbean country which automatically charges you for an international call. Canada and many Caribbean countries use the same country code as the United States (1) which makes it very easy for consumers to overlook the fact that it might be an international call. The charges don't stop at the international charges. The call is then connected to an "adult entertainment" phone operator creating... read more

However - I was a little disappointed with the fact that I didn't get any more application icons on my new giant screen and also the standard Samsung weather/clock widget took up way too much of the screen. So I decided to give my phone a new look - take a look at the results below.
BEFORE - An AT&T Note 3 with the stock Samsung User Interface is on the left with 8 icons on the home screen.
AFTER - My Verizon Note 3 is on the right running, Nova Launcher, special Nox... read more
