Verizon Wireless To Push Android Update To Samsung Galaxy S III Customers

Great news for Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone owners.  Starting later this week, Verizon Wireless will be pushing out an over-the-air update to bring the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system to the Galaxy S III.

The update will bring a smoother and more responsive user interface and a refreshed homescreen that automatically adapts to fit your content.  A very useful feature that is added to the Galaxy S III with this update is the addition of MultiScreen and MultiWindow view, which enables users to view and work in two different applications at the same time.  This feature can come in very handy in situations where you need to view information in one app, like an address, while you input that same information in to another application, like navigation.  With the new Android 4.1.2 update, you will also have the option to bill Google Play purchases directly to your Verizon Wireless account.

To manually check if your GSIII is eligible for the update, open settings, and then select "about device".  At the top of the screen, you will see an option to update software.  This is where you can see if your GSIII has the option to update to the Android 4.1.2 operating system.
