Sprint MVNO Zact Partners With Disney On New Phone!

by Michele Farlow on December 10, 2013

For all of us Disney fans out there, our wish has finally come true. Sprint MVNO Zact has partnered up with Disney to make the perfect smartphone for kids (and of course some of us adults will equally enjoy it). This phone will run on the Android 4.1 operating system and a combination of Sprint Nextel's 1xRTT, EV-DO and LTE networks. Disney decided to partner with Zact instead of a major carrier so that customers could have the option to adjust their plans as they see fit, being able to add or drop minutes and more all from their smartphone. This is great for the person on the go.

The new Disney smartphone has a 4-inch display, 5MP camera, and comes equipped with tons of preloaded Disney apps like Toy Story, Smash It!, Disney Music, and Disney Aja! (which is Disney's Spanish app). You can also set parental controls on this device through the phone plan you choose and be able to set preapproved apps and contacts for your children.

For the holiday season, the Disney smartphone will be sold for $99, a markdown from the regular $169.99. Zact is also offering a free 4 month "child starter plan" which includes 100 minutes, 100 texts, and 100MB of data. After those four months you will need to choose the plan you like most and that best fits your needs, but this starter plan gives you the chance to see just how much data and minutes your child will need. The great thing about Zact is that there is no limit to the amount of devices that can be on one plan and besides a $4.99 monthly service charge; there are no additional costs for sharing data. This is a great for households with multiple children.

Zact has coined this smartphone as the "first smartphone of its kind for kids" and with it we will see many more follow in its footsteps.
