Sprint & HTC Release Mogul Upgrade

March, 10th - 3:32 pm ET | posted by Mike in Mobile Content

Earlier today, HTC and Sprint announced that they are updating to the Rev.A technology, which provides much faster download and upload speed for cell phones. The HTC Mogul (or HTC 6800 Pocket PC) will be the first to get Sprint’s EVDO Rev.A network update, and can be found on HTC’s cell phone site. This update also adds advanced GPS functionality so you can use Sprint Navigation, improves your Bluetooth performance, and puts the Windows Mobile Task Manager on the Today screen.

You’re going to need your USB Cable, since this ROM won’t allow upgrading via Bluetooth or over the air. If you’re missing your cable, we carry HTC Mogul accessories in the Wirefly accessory store.

There have been rumors that HTC will be updating the HTC Touch (or Vogue) cell phone to Rev.A in June (hopefully). It looks like most Windows Mobile devices will be updated first, so if you want the best of Sprint’s wireless phone service and aren’t using a Windows Mobile phone like the Touch or the Mogul, maybe it’s time to upgrade!
