Set Up Your Account

Log on to Wirefly Mobile Backup to set up your free account.  You will be asked to enter your name, email address, and your phone model and carrier.

Receive Your Pin

Once you have submitted your information, you will receive a text message with your Wirefly Mobile Backup pin number to enter in to the mobile application on your phone.  This is why the backup needs to be done before your old phone loses cellular network connectivity to ensure you receive the text message.

Download Wirefly Mobile Backup App

To find the Wirefly Mobile Backup app, follow the link in the text message you recieved with your Wirefly Mobile Backup pin number.  Now select download to install it on your smartphone.

Start The Backup

Once you have downloaded the app to your smartphone, open the Wirefly Mobile Backup application to start the backup process which involves uploading your information to our secure servers. We reccomend plugging in your phone and have a good cellular or Wi-Fi connection to decrease backup time.

Once you have completed backing up your contacts, you will be asked if you would like to protect or move pictures, music, and videos with Wirefly Mobile Backup.  Remember, when you sign up for Wirefly Mobile Backup you receive 2GB of free backup storage space to use for your pictures, contacts, videos, and music.  Due to some limitations with iTunes, you will not be able to backup your music on an Apple device.

Time To Activate Your New Smartphone

Now that you have backed-up your contacts with the Wirefly Mobile Backup, you can now activate your new smartphone.  Once your phone has a connection to a cellular network you can proceed to the next step to download your files to your new smartphone.

Move Your Files To Your New Phone

Now that you're ready to add yourold files to your new phone, you will need to log back on to your computer to add the new smartphone to your portfolio of registered phones.  About halfway down on your computer monitor, you will see a place to "add device".  You want to click on that to add your new smartphone to your backup account.  You will now see a pop-up window asking a question.  You want to check the option that says "Transfer data from an existing phone in my account to a new phone".

This is where you will enter in the information about your new phone, including make and model number.  A quick reminder, after this step it is imperative that your new phone have a connection to a cellular network.  You need to be able to receive the Wirefly Mobile Backup text message with your log in pin number for your new phone.

Uploading Your Contacts

After you enter in your new phone's information, you will receive a text message with a pin number to log that phone in to your Wirefly Mobile Backup account.  This is part of the verification process that keeps your information safe and secure.

Transfer Complete

After the transfer, you will receive a message that says "Contacts Recovered".  Now you can go in to the address book on your phone and you will see all of the contacts that successfully transferred from your previous phone.  They might be sorted a little different than on your last phone, but you can adjust that in the settings for your contacts list.
