SE w350i For AT&T

Good news for fans of Sony Ericsson’s Walkman line of cell phones: we’ve confirmed that the new (yet retro-ish) Sony Ericsson w350i for AT&T will soon be available at Wirefly. We also happen to have one in the office this morning, so we’ll share our impressions.

The first thing one notices about the new Sony Ericsson w350i is the form factor. It’s decidedly 20th century, with a noticeable touch of state-of-the-art flair. Remember those early Ericsson cell phones with the thin, protective flip-down piece? There was a guy in every crowd with a T39 clipped to his belt. The w350i reintroduces that “half-flip” look, and it does so in a way that’s winning over the hearts of cell phone fans at Wirefly, and elsewhere on the web.

Despite the superficial familiarities, the w350i is far from a relic of the nineties. On the outside of that iconic half-flip, you’ll find dedicated music controls that hint at the full-feature set hidden inside: 14 MB of internal memory, support for microSD cards, an FM radio, stereo Bluetooth, and USB mass storage all add up to a powerful mobile music experience. Sony Ericsson has also added a 1.3-Megapixel camera and a full web browser (with an RSS reader) to round out the multimedia functionality.

The Sony Ericsson w350i will be available in three really attractive color schemes: Electric Black, Ice Blue, and Graphic White. All in all, we’re impressed with the features and inspired design of the Sony Ericsson w350i, and expect it to sell very well as a mid-level device that should appeal to a wide audience of style-conscious music lovers.
